Video Presentations with the AAXA P2 Projector

I’m new here and wanted to introduce myself with an overview of how the AAXA P2 fares with presenting a video presentation.

After receiving the projector, I charged the battery and read over the instruction manual. One of my main purposes in wanting this projector is to be able to do presentations with ease. After reading the manual, I envisioned two methods to making a presentation:

1. Traditional laptop –> projector connection.
Because this projector has a VGA connector in the back of the unit, it was easy to plug and display. With Windows 7, shockingly, all I had to do was tell the laptop to search for other displays and it automatically added the projector and mirrored my desktop. I was ready to go in less than a minute.

2. Load my video on the P2 and display it.
There is 1Gb of onboard storage on the unit. After plugging the projector into my laptop via usb, it is recognized as a drive. All I need to do is copy over the files I need. Then I go into the onboard media player of the projector and press play. One thing to note is that the projector can only play certain files. So I had to be caerful to choose the correct conversion. I don’t consider this too big of a deal when I see the upside that I do not need to take my laptop with me.

AAXA’s L1 Laser Projector finally has an Iphone connector!

Having had the L1 on loan from AAXA for a few weeks and despite its innate video playback capabilities we felt that and Iphone / Ipod connector was sorely missing. Thankfully the guys at AAXA heard our request and have released a new Iphone / Ipod connector for the L1 Pico projector.

We just got around to testing out this cable. It’s amazing what two products both the size of cigarette backs can do together – we now have a portable 50″ youtube screen that fits in our pocket! Not to mention picture slide shows and itunes videos! Can we ask for more? Yes – the 1 hour 20 minute (as tested) operating life of the L1 leaves us a bit short on a full length movie. Can we just get another 40 mintues of battery life? Pretty please with a cherry on top???

AAXA M1 and Digital Camera = convenience & ease

Having received the AAXA M1+ a few days ago, I was able to try viewing pictures right after taking pictures. This is actually a lot easier than the current digital photo frame that I have. Both of these items were actually presents from my cousin and she explained that they were easy to use. I beg to differ. The digital photo frame actually caused some trouble as it would not read some of my larger files and stalled. With the M1+, I am able to snap pictures at high res and directly take my SD card out of the projector and place it in the projector itself. Looking at similar products, I don’t see SD card slot readers on other projectors. So I can see why my cousin told me that this was easy to use. There are plenty of other features that are available on the M1+ which as I use more will talk about. But for now, AAXA’s M1+ and my digital camera = convenience & ease for me.

The best present for RV owners

It’s not always easy to go outside the RV when you are on the road. Bad weather is bound to happen. Occasionally you just need a break from the outdoors. Some people who RV are on the road for months at a time. Most RV’s come with 13 inch tube tv’s that just don’t do the trick. All you need is a white sheet to instantly have your personal movie theater inside your RV.

Check out this shot of our Xbox 360 being displayed with an M1+ Micro Projector from Aaxa Tech. This little lady is preparing for some Halo 3 action on the big screen. The color and clarity of the M1+ was more than enough to handle the high speed gaming graphics.

Projector Central M1 Review: Highly Rated

Last week the folks over at Projector Central finally got their hand on an M1 from Aaxa tech to review. They rated it 5 stars on features and value. The M1 isn’t quite small enough to be considered a “pico” projector but can still fit in the palm of your hand. It is more well known as a micro projector. The little bit of extra size has allowed a large increase in power and capabilities.

How to get Video-Out on your iPhone

If you own a pico projector and planned on using it with your iPhone you may have noticed that hardly anything works except video’s, youtube, and slideshows. If you are confident in your abilities as a techie you can jailbreak your iPhone and install a special app that makes all your apps run with video out. We obviously can’t tell you that your iPhone will be fine and dandy if you do this, there are a lot of risks involved in jailbreaking and Apple will void your warranty, but there are millions of iPhone users who jailbreak theirs. There are a lot of forums you can find online with the correct procedure for jailbreaking your iPhone based on your current software. Good luck!

Jakks Eyeclops Nominated for “Worst Toy of the Year”

Is Jakks Eyeclops the Worst Toy this year?

The ‘Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood’ has released their list for the worst toys of the year. Among them is the Jakks Eyeclops mini projector which can be bought at toysRus. We agree this might be a good nomination, though for completely different reasons than they believe. Pico projectors can be great toys as long as they are used in moderation. As with everything, it comes down to good parenting. If you are going to get a mini projector we would recommend one with a little more power and quality than that the Jakks though.
