How to Mirror Android Phones to a Projector

With the advancements in smartphone technologies, many users still faceĀ  common issues such as faster charging or being able to connect to an external monitor. More and more Android smartphone manufacturers are using the newest USB type C port technology. The advantages of the USB type C connection include faster charging time, the possibility to mirror phone screens to a large external display.

Here are a few steps to determine if your smartphone is USB-C ready.

Step 1Identify the type of connector available on your phone

Your smartphone should have USB-C, lightning port(for Apple), Mini USB (for older devices), or Micro US. Refer to the picture below for reference to what port your smartphone has.

Step 2 – Check what port connection is available for your projector

You should see HDMI, VGA, and USB as standards for most projectors. To be able to do USB-C mirroring, you would need an USB-C port on your projector as well. If your projector does not have a USB-C port, you can still connect through HDMI. For that, you can use a USB-C to HDMI cable or USB-C to HDMI adapter cable like the two images below.

Step3- Choose your connection cable

Make sure you have an USB-C Cable and a projector that supports HDMI Alt Mode. Users should plug in the cable and choose the correct settings on the projector to display.

Please note that for Apple users, it would be best to use the Lightning to HDMI AV Adapter from Apple to connect your phone to the projectors.
